Half Day Sunset Safari
Ride into the Golden Hour of the Thar Desert
Unwind in the desert breeze and witness the Thar turn golden under the evening sun with our Half Day Sunset Safari. This adventure blends local heritage, scenic beauty, and a tranquil camel ride through untouched dunes. Perfect for families, couples, or solo travelers short on time but high on curiosity, this experience promises both relaxation and insight into Jaisalmer’s countryside.
What to Expect
Your journey begins at 2:00 PM with a comfortable pickup from your hotel in Jaisalmer. As you drive out of the city, the first stop takes you to the Royal Cenotaphs of Bada Bagh, an architectural tribute to the rulers of Jaisalmer, dating back to 1743.
Next, explore the hauntingly beautiful abandoned village of Kuldhara, a site wrapped in legend and silence. From here, we venture deeper into the Thar Desert, where your camels await atop golden dunes.
Enjoy a 1-hour camel ride across the soft sands, concluding at a scenic point where you’ll pause to witness the desert sunset in all its glowing glory. As the day winds down, we’ll serve you hot masala chai and fresh cookies amid the serene landscape. After sunset, our jeep will drive you back to the hotel.
Family-Friendly Guidelines
Children & Safety Measures
-
Children under 5 years: Not permitted on camels for safety reasons. They must remain in the jeep with an adult guardian.
-
Children 5–8 years: Eligible for half-price and must share a camel with an adult.
-
Children 8+ years: Charged full price and may ride solo camels at their guardian's discretion.
We highly recommend this half-day safari for families traveling with young children, as it avoids the overnight stay and provides a safe, enjoyable desert experience.
Desert Facilities
Please note: After leaving the city, there are no washing or bathroom facilities. You will need to use natural spaces responsibly. To help preserve the environment, please minimize the use of toilet paper and dispose of waste thoughtfully.
Campfire Policy
Campfires are available only in winter months (Nov–Feb), depending on the weather. In summer, we avoid campfires as they attract insects.
